WHAT IS VIJNANA YOGA?
Vijnana, in Sanskrit, means understanding and discerning that can only be known from within. Our tools are Just Sitting, Pranayama (breathing exercises) and Asana (postures). Practice of the Vayus (ancient Yogic practice) deepens and connects this work.
Through simple instructions, without overusing anatomical terms, Vijnana Yoga caters to each individual as the practice transpires from within with the teacher’s guidance. It is not a prescribed form or posture dictated by photographs or outer images.
Adhering to the middle and the 7 vital principles allows for a simple yet precise asana. The body then moves as one unfragmented unit which ultimately frees us to celebrate the pure joy of moving and being.
